Who We Are

The World Customs and Border Protection (WCBP) is the only global intergovernmental body exclusively focused on customs and border protection matters.

Headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, United States and United Kingdom with its united 187 member administrations to streamline border operations, secure the international supply chain, and disrupt illicit trade.

Operating globally, the WCBP acts as the international voice for customs by: Securing Borders: Implementing the SAFE Framework of Standards to balance supply chain security with global trade facilitation.

1. Combating Illicit Trade: Utilizing the Regional Intelligence Liaison Offices (RILO) network to detect transnational organized crime, drug smuggling, and terrorist threats.
2. Capacity Building: Providing technical assistance—such as the recent border security training collaborations with the World Customs Service—to modernize national enforcement programs. The organization is currently led by Director General Hanky Saunders, who took office in January, 2024.
